Forgiving for Good

Day 19: "Forgiveness not Fairness"

Scripture: Jonah 4:2 ERV
"He complained to the LORD and said, “ and said, “LORD, I knew this would happen! I was in my own country, and you told me to come here. At that time I knew that you would forgive the people of this evil city, so I decided to run away to Tarshish. I knew that you are a kind God. I knew that you show mercy and don’t want to punish people. I knew that you are kind, and if these people stopped sinning, you would change your plans to destroy them."

Day 19 Prayer

Father,
In a world that is filled with judgement and quick dismissals,
I'm increasingly grateful for Your grace to forgive.
Thank You for Your faithfulness to forgive me when I've missed
it and need to repent.
Help me to always be sensitive of that reality... Help me to
remember that I am a benefactor of Your mercy.

Thank You for not being a respecter of persons. Use me as a willing participant to communicate Your desire to forgive, with others.

Help me to represent that truth to people who have yet to discover Your unfailing love. I pray that I never develop a haughty heart, but
that I always remember that Your mercy is for everyone. Your mercy is for all. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Forgiving for Good Confession:

I stand in the position of authority over my heart and declare that I am healed and restored.

I will no longer mull over hurtful things that have been done to me. I will not consume poison by allowing unforgiveness to contaminate my heart. I will not be a willing participant in my own demise.

I am reclaiming the time that I've wasted trying to figure out WHY. I choose to spend my time praying for the hurting and also for the ones that caused hurt.

I declare that their eyes are OPEN to what they have done and that they truly repent.

I am free of the hurtful words spoken from my past and my present. (Selah)

I am free from the wounds.

I am free from the desire to retaliate.

My feelings, my faith and my fervor are restored more and more as I truly forgive.

When I see those who've hurt me, I will demonstrate real forgiveness and pure love.

I will pick up my head daily and remember that I am here; I am FREE and I am Healed.

In Jesus’ Name.
