Heart Focus 4:
Forgiving for Good

Day 17: "Forgiving through Pain"

Scripture:Luke 23:34 KJV
"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

Day 17 Prayer

I have come before You many times, asking You to forgive me
and I have also come before You many times, asking You to help me to forgive. I can't hide my heart from You. You see me as I really am...
broken in some places, bruised in others. You see my hidden heartbreak
from prying and public eyes. You know my internal moans and the
scars of my spirit. All these things. . . symptoms of a broken heart.

I've said the words, "I forgive you." to those who have hurt me. I've said the words, but I'm still dealing with some lagging pain from their wounds.
Forgiveness can be very difficult.
I'm praying that every time I think to deliberate about whether or not to offer forgiveness to those who've wronged me, that I remember that I still need forgiveness from You.
Help me to remember that freely I receive, freely I must give.
Help me to grow in forgiveness... to become fluid in it
so that it's not a consideration, but an automatic response.

Father, let my forgiveness open hearts and spur on a wave of
making things right,
In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Forgiving for Good Confession:

I stand in the position of authority over my heart and declare that I am healed and restored.

I will no longer mull over hurtful things that have been done to me. I will not consume poison by allowing unforgiveness to contaminate my heart. I will not be a willing participant in my own demise.

I am reclaiming the time that I've wasted trying to figure out WHY. I choose to spend my time praying for the hurting and also for the ones that caused hurt.

I declare that their eyes are OPEN to what they have done and that they truly repent.

I am free of the hurtful words spoken from my past and my present. (Selah)

I am free from the wounds.

I am free from the desire to retaliate.

My feelings, my faith and my fervor are restored more and more as I truly forgive.

When I see those who've hurt me, I will demonstrate real forgiveness and pure love.

I will pick up my head daily and remember that I am here; I am FREE and I am Healed.

In Jesus’ Name.
